Tungsten Carbide Rings

One of the most common wedding rings today is a tungsten carbide wedding ring. This type of wedding ring may have the same physical luster of white gold but the good news is that they are made to be very affordable than the usual. As you look closely, white gold is very expensive because of its properties so the people who may only enjoy their style are those with lots of savings.

Thoughts on saving money

If you really want to have a dinner reception check your area for culinary arts schools or cooking schools, sometimes they will cater an event for just the cost of food. You could even have pot luck. Have close friends and family each cook a special dish for your reception. You are bound to have great food without the cost of a caterer. Skip the fancy linen tablecloths, china, and silverware settings. I about had heart failure when I found out how much rental for those items would be. Plus I would have had to wash everything before returning it, except the tablecloths. Paper plates and plastic silverware are fine. No one will be insulted because you didn’t have fancy table settings. If you think someone will be insulted maybe you should consider not sending them an invite. You can coordinate the plates, napkins, and silverware with your wedding colors and it will look very pretty. You can also use plastic or paper tablecloths. Everything will be disposable and you won’t have to worry about returning rentals when you should be enjoying your honeymoon.

More Green Wedding Tips

Give a recycled handmade paper bookmark with wildflower seeds--this
is a very useful gift, which can then be planted for even more
enjoyment. In place of a bookmark, give a small envelope of wildflower
seeds to your guests. * Give tree saplings from the National Arbor Day Foundation at www.arborday.org.

Which beach is the best or the prettiest?

All beach towns are different and beauty is on the eye of the beholder! We cannot tell you which one is prettier, but we can provide you with a general description of the beaches by area:

About Atlantic Ocean beach locations:

The are the closest ones to Orlando. This is convenient if you are planning on staying in Orlando and drive to the beach just for the wedding. You would fly into Orlando International Airport.
Photos feature beautiful bright blue skies and a combination of greenery, sand and blue oceans
The sun hides opposite to the water (behind the sand dunes)
The sand is a dark golden color with the exception of the Ponce Inlet area where is white

About Gulf of Mexico beaches:

Tampa Bay is the closest major city/airport to these locations.
Water is emerald green, you will see lots of whites and light tones in your photos (as opposed to the bright colors on the East Coast)
The sun hides behind the water. If you are looking for that big bright orange ball hiding behind the water, this is THE place!
The sand is white color

Your Mother

Every girl wants her mother there next to her at the wedding, but make sure your mom enjoys the day, and doesn't try to control it. All too often mothers try helping by controlling what they want during the wedding, not what you want. Thats your Maid of Honors job, not moms. Make sure mom knows to just enjoy the day with you! It's not a day she has to work, its a day for her to smile and greet guests and family members on that special day!

Green Wedding Tips

Light Soy Candles Candlelight isn't only romantic, it's
energy efficient. Look for soy candles -- they're made from a renewable
resource, are cleaner and longer burning than regular candles, plus
spills are easy to clean (just use soap and hot water). They're
available in nearly every size, shape, color, and scent you can imagine.

Non Saturday weddings

People always seemed to be surprised when there's a wedding on any other day but Saturday. Actually getting married on "off" days is a great idea to get real bang for your buck. Locations are looking to book the venue and offer real discounts to couples. Most services are like this and you can get a huge fancy wedding you normally wouldn't be able to afford!

Something to think about

Thoughts about hiring a Wedding Photographer

I was thinking about this the other day.  There are so many people out there now in Florida that advertise photography services for $500 or less that it's becoming a problem.  What might look like a good deal to a prospective bride and groom, ends up being a nightmare because of lack of experience.  Just because you own a digital camera doesn't mean you can shoot a wedding.  There's a lot of things to ask a photographer when looking for one, but simply ask two questions:

#1 How many years have you been doing this (and it better be more then 3)

#2 Ask if they have ever shot a wedding on FILM (if they have you can damn well bet they know what they are doing!)

Little bit about us and our new blog

We're a small group of friends looking to get more information about the Florida Wedding Business out to the masses and explain what really goes on at weddings in Florida and what to do and not to do with your wedding.  Some of it is funny and some of it is just plain crazy.  Sometimes it's the people and sometimes it's the events that make this business interesting and I'm bringing that all to you in a fun little place we like to call the Florida Wedding Business Blog!

Feel free to comment with your thoughts and experiences and lets create a nice little community!  If you're in the business as well, tell us about your gigs! thoughts! and what interests you!
